Dirty Dancing
The classic romance film of Dirty Dancing has been entertained audiences since its release in 1987. The film tells the story of Frances Houseman, nicknamed Baby, and her summer at a holiday resort with her family. Baby, a seventeen year old girl, is the pride and joy of her parents as she is set to attend college to study economics. However, upon meeting the sexy Johnny Castle, the resorts dance teacher, Baby starts to develop a severe crush on the young man.
Johnny invites Baby to after hours, staff only party where her eyes are truly opened as she sees Johnny’s passion, dirty dancing. Johnny and his dance partner, Penny Johnson, are a sensation but when Penny confides in Baby that she is pregnant things look set to change. Baby borrows money from her father so Penny can get an illegal abortion but when Baby’s strict father finds out he quickly jumps to conclusions and assumes Johnny has fathered the baby. He forbids Baby from seeing Johnny anymore but the couple continue their relationship in private meaning events are bound to come to a head!
The classic film is now set on stage and is showing at the West End’s Aldwych Theatre in London where cheap theatre tickets are available from around £15.
